About Us
THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY DATES BACK TO TWO CENTURIES AGO AND IT STARTED IN GAMBELLARA, A LAND IN THE HEART OF VENETO.
It started like an endless journey, in the constant search for estates and native vines, into the areas with the highest winemaking vocation.Places to be protected and enhanced, where to cultivate and produce the highest quality grapes and wine. In each estates and vineyards, a direct and full control of the supply chain would guarantee the respect for territorial, cultural and human heritage, history and traditions.

Over 4000 hectares of land
ZONIN1821 owns 4,000 hectares, half of them are vineyards, the remaining part is protected for reforestation, olive growing and cultivated land. -
Sustainable viticulture
Two of our estates, Castello di Albola and Rocca di Montemassi, publish an annual Sustainability Report and they are Equalitas certified.
PRESERVING HARMONY
In Zonin 1821 we are aware that what we are cultivating is not just a great dream, but even more a dutiful commitment to the earth and the future generations.
Protection and conservation are the result of an interdependent relationship between three critical components: biodiversity, community and sustainability. They all are an integral part of our model, since we believe that an integrated process can only work if it is safe for the environment, socially fair and economically sustainable.
Energy
We aim for complete self-sufficiency by using photovoltaic technology, protecting the landscape in which the panels are placed to minimize their visual impact.
Biodiversity
We protect biodiversity through reforestation projects and maintenance of local flora and fauna, to preserve the natural beauty of the places unchanged.
The impact in viticulture
We limit the use of herbicides as much as possible, preserving life in the soil. We have chosen to reintroduce the traditional technique of natural fertilization, to provide the soil with nutrients for the vine.
Water resources
We use technologies that allow us to rationalize the irrigation of vineyards and prevent vine diseases. We have created artificial lakes to collect rainwater without affecting the aquifers.

This determination has always allowed us to capitalize on the heritage of years of activity in the world of wine and at the same time to successfully face the new challenges of globalization, and it will allow the new generations to continue to meet the challenges of the future.
